120. Above Alta

Susan with our trusty, red, cross-country Chevy

above Alta, Utah

morning – September 27, 2010

We decided to head to Cottonwood Canyon and Snowbird and Alta since our RV was not ready until 1 pm. Rumor had it that above Alta there were some good hikes so we all set out (Susan, the McCampbells, and Mary Bagnato) using the GPS to guide us there. This was the end of the road for us (at about 9000ft). I was running low on gasoline and a security man gave me two gallons so we could make it back to Salt Lake City (about a 45 min drive), return our trusty and reliable cross-country Chevy, and pick up the R.V. – this later became nicknamed “the tin can.
