We were certainly not the only group of rafters on the river, although our guide John told us that there were busier times earlier in the season. This group was just behind us on some white water that we had just come through. All the guides knew each other – they were all friends. Some had been guiding tours for a decade or more and had become legends. John was finishing his 4th year as a guide.
