Rt 83 north to Mobridge, South Dakota

Rain seemed to follow us on this trip no matter where we went. We left Pierre and
tracked north heading for Mobridge and Sitting Bull’s memorial. Some 15 years before
I had read a National Geographic article about this memorial, and remembered the eerie
but beautiful pictures of this area at the overlook here of the Missouri River. For some
reason that article had stuck in my mind and so we went off track some 120 miles in order to
visit where Sitting Bull had been memorialized.
