Crazy Horse, South Dakota

Begun in 1948 this monument to Crazy Horse, an Ogala Lakota warrior is still under construction in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It was commissioned by Lakota Chief Henry Standing Bear to be sculptured by Polish-American sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski, and since his death by his son.
